It’s that time of year. Pumpkin Spice, cooler weather (for some) and college fairs. College Fairs are a great way to find out more about colleges in a short amount of time. I strongly recommend attending. You can easily demonstrate interest at several colleges all at once. You can gather information about schools you may not have considered. And, you can set yourself apart by sending a follow up email and a link to your ZEEMEE profile. (Not sure what that is? Call our office – 904-465-4627.)
REMEMBER: The people representing the colleges are often with admissions. First impressions are important! So, while there, stand up straight and smile. Have a list of colleges you’d like to see. But, be open to other colleges. Make sure you ask a couple of questions and get a business card so you can follow up with an email.
Here is a link to find the fair closest to you COLLEGE FAIRS. Make sure you register! You will get a barcode pass that you can use at the booths. That way, you won’t have to write out your information.
SENIORS: If you haven’t visited a school where you are applying (NOT RECOMMENDED), or, you don’t have an advocate, go to the college fair. Meet the admissions counselor, find out what you need to do to set yourself apart and follow up! It is crunch time and all efforts count.
Many high schools and/or counties host college fairs. These provide a more intimate setting. I highly recommend.
NORTH FLORIDA STUDENTS: We will be attending two fairs. September 6th at Clay High School and September 20th at Nease High school. Stop by our table for a free gift.
